Parents

'They (parents) are particularly pleased with the caring, friendly and welcoming ethos. Evidence from the inspection supports parents’ views that children enjoy school and that care for children’s health and safety is outstanding.' Ofsted November 2009

We encourage parents to help with school activities such as football, swimming, cookery, library and we also appreciate help with transport for activities which take place out of school, as coach hire costs are so high.

We operate an open door policy which means that parents can come into school with their children first thing in the morning. We encourage parents to come and look at their child's work or to talk to the teacher at any mutually convenient time. We would respectfully remind parents that often teachers are very busy in the mornings, preparing for the day ahead, so sometimes it is easier to talk at the end of the day. We also have Parents Evenings twice a year to provide formal opportunities to discuss your childs' learning. Towards the end of each academic year you will receive a written report about your child's progress. If you are concerned about any aspect of your child's education please discuss this with the class teacher.

Parents are traditionally very supportive of the school. Some parents support in the classrooms and huge numbers helped reclaim our overgrown outdoor area during  a Saturday session.
Bacon sandwiches and coffee were supplied!

Our PTA

We now have a very able and enthusiastic PTA. This highly supportive group of parents and friends of the school have lots of ideas about how to raise funds for some of our current and future projects. At present the committee consists of 5 members who are supported in turn by many parents who have offered to help out at specific events.
The PTA continues to organse small and larger  events, including discos, cake sales, table top sales, a barn dance and most recently a very successful Summer camp out on the field!
If you would like to join our PTA we meet a couple of times each term to plan events. The meetings are short, friendly and informal, and we even go out for a meal at Christmas.
